5. Stephen Ministry: Loving One Another Lindenwood Area Senior Ministry’s Stephen Ministry program provides a unique opportunity to serve! In John 15:12 Jesus says, “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” Loving and caring for one another is something Jesus calls us all to do! Stephen Ministry is a ministry in which people with special gifts for caring can put those gifts to use in a meaningful way, bringing Jesus’ love and care to those who most need it. LASM’s Stephen Ministry program reaches out to hurting older adults in our partner congregations and the LASM community. Stephen Ministers are caring individuals who receive care giving training and then work alongside the LASM Director in providing emotional and spiritual support to older adults who are going through a difficult time, such as grief, hospitalization, isolation, relocation, chronic illness, or loneliness. We are training our third class of Stephen Ministers beginning Sunday, September 11th . Contact LASM Director, Katie Weintraub at 647-4591 or la[email protected] to discuss joining this important ministry
6. A Good Time to Join Choir Our Choir will start practicing again on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM. This past year was a rough year on our choir loosing many key members. I am sure that God is calling some of you out there to share in this important ministry and this would be a good time to join.
7. RCIA Do you know anyone who is thinking about becoming Catholic? “Far better it is for you to say: "I am a sinner," than to say: "I have no need of religion." The empty can be filled, but the self-intoxicated have no room for God.” ― Fulton J. Sheen. I am really excited with how this year’s RCIA program is shaping up. We have two to three people who have expressed interest in becoming Catholic. If you know of anyone please invite them to contact us and explore this possibility.
